Ray Lewis May Haven Been Right About Ravens

Ray Lewis may have been right about the Ravens lack of leadership. Ray Lewis made headlines for this comment after the Jacoby Jones incident. Several Ravens players were offended by the comment , but Ray Lewis was probably right. I mean the way the Ravens played last week against the Buffalo Bills showed lack of leadership. The offensive line played horrible. Wide receivers were dropping passes. Joe Flacco threw the ball 50 times with 5 interceptions. The Baltimore Ravens completely abandoned the running which we all know usually results in a loss. The Ravens have yet to win a game on the road and all this points to lack of leadership.

I mean how can you replace a leader like Ray Lewis? If you don’t know what kind of leadership Ray Lewis brought when he was here then check out the following video:

Can Ravens Blame it on the Altitude?

Can the Baltimore Ravens blame their blowout loss on the high altitude3 of the Denver Broncos stadium. I mean the game should have been played at home as is the tradition of giving the Superbowl Champs a home game for the NFL season opener. Not only did the Ravens have to go on the road, but they had to go on the road in a hostile environment to play a good football team with one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time. Don’t get me wrong though because the Ravens did nget their asses whipped.

The Baltimore Ravens made several bonehead mistakes throughout the Ravens vs Broncos game last night. I mean the guy who ran into Jacoby Jones during the return causing Jacoby Jones to get injured should be cut. I mean a challenge flag should have been thrown on a bad referee call when the replay showed that the pass was dropped. This resulted in a touchdown drive for the Denver Broncos. Dallas Clark dropped a key touchdown pass and our defensive secondary got burned left and right giving up 7 TD passes to Peyton Manning.

The only real bright spots for the Ravens was that Terrell Suggs and Elvis Dumervil both recorded sacks on Peyton Manning, but overall the defense was not very impressive to say the least. Michael Huff did not show me much other than the fact that he can miss key tackles. Another bright side is that Denver beat us bad last year too in the regular season but the Ravens came back and beat them when it really counts and that is in the playoffs!

The Rematch: Ravens vs Patriots

It is not very often that you get to see a rematch of the previoys year’s AFC Championship game. Today that will happen in the Ravens vs Patriots matchup. Last year’s AFC championship gam ended badly for the Baltimore Ravens due to a Lee Evans mistake in the end zone as well as a missed kick by Billy Cundiff.

This year may be different however. The Ravens have a great new rookie field goal kicker in Justin Tucker. They have also added speedster WR Jacoby Jones to the roster. The Baltimore Ravens also have a new offensive coordinator now and have been averaging 28 points per game since Jim Caldwell took over the offense.

We all know that Tom Brady and the New England Patriots can put up some points. The key to beating New England is by keeping close and then making the needed stops on defense. The Ravens usually play the Patriots very tough and if any team can go up to New England and win it is the Baltimore Ravens.
